Studies show that exercise can reduce chronic pain, but research
suggests that some forms of exercise may be better than others. Wellbridge Health Center and Chiropractic in Prescott brings
you these suggestions for effective pain management.
In a recent study researchers compared two exercise
treatments in a group of patients with back pain. All patients improved with
increased physical activity, however patients who performed core-stabilization
exercises improved more compared to patients engaging in conventional exercises.
The core-stabilization group experienced greater improvements in movement, pain
management, and reduced their disability.
The study concluded that core stabilization is more
effective for treating non-specific back pain than conventional exercise.

Another study compared different exercise therapies for
musculoskeletal pain found that resistance training is more effective.
Lastly, another study on exercise for neck pain, yoga was
better than conventional exercises for improving mobility and pain sensitivity.
